IN-HOME TRIAL
Want to try an instrument?
Do it without pressure, wherever you like, whenever you like.
Before buying a flute or a piccolo, it’s important to try it out, especially if it’s a second-hand instrument. But that’s not always easy to arrange. That’s why La mécanique des flûtes offers a home trial service, allowing you to get to know the instrument a little better and in an acoustic setting you’re already familiar with.
IN-HOME TRIAL CONDITIONS
Shipping Fees
• €85 (incl. VAT) for the shipment of one or two instruments.
This includes the prepaid return label and transport insurance.
These fees are non-refundable.
• €0 if you collect and return the instruments (maximum two) in person at the Orsay workshop.
Procedure
• Fill out the form below;
• Verify your identity via a third-party application (Stripe) or with official documents at the workshop;
• Pay a security deposit equivalent to the value of the instruments being shipped, by bank transfer before the shipment;
• Provide your bank details for the refund of the security deposit for instruments not purchased.
The security deposit does not entail any obligation to purchase.
Trial Period
• Collection in person at the workshop: maximum 3 days
• Instruments shipped to your home: maximum 8 days
Day 1: Shipment via DHL (pick-up before 2:00 p.m.)
Day 2: Delivery of the package (by evening at the latest)
Day 3, 4, 5: 🎶
Day 6: You schedule the return pick-up with DHL (before 2:00 p.m.)
Day 7: DHL collects the package (or you drop it off at a service point)
Day 8: Instrument is received by La mécanique des flûtes (on Monday if the 8th day falls on a Sunday)
Instruments are shipped with DHL Domestic (next-day delivery in mainland France, by end of day, with signature required).
After the Trial
• In the event of purchase, you will receive either a sales certificate (for consignment instruments) or an invoice. Purchased instruments are neither exchangeable nor refundable.
• In the event of non-purchase, the security deposit will be refunded by bank transfer within a maximum of 7 working days after the instrument is returned.
In the event of non-return, loss, or damage to the instruments, all or part of the security deposit may be retained, up to the amount of the costs incurred for repair or replacement of the instrument.
In case of late return, 10% of the instrument’s value will be charged per day of delay.
Return Instructions
• Use the same packaging in which you received the item, unless it has been damaged.

• Use the return label included in the package to avoid additional shipping costs.
